Porplemontage Studios

Getting a Porplemontage Studios hosting account with us is quite easy. We'll give you the webspace you need to host your Flash webtoon or webcomic as long as you can meet the following requirements:

• Never upload protected work without permission or perform illegal activities through the server.
• The webspace we give you is for your webtoon/webcomic only. You are not permitted to use your site for any other purpose, such as using it to host unrelated videos or other large files.
• You must use the webspace that we give you for hosting your content. That does not mean that you cannot submit your work to other sites, it simply means that you cannot outsource any of your Porplemontage Studios site to another location. It is possible to host with us and use your own domain for your site, so if that's what you're interested in just let us know.
• Your Porplemontage Studios site must be the primary place on the Internet for your series. Any other instances of your series on the Internet should be secondary, such as putting your cartoons on a Flash portal. For example, you cannot just copy your site from where it currently is and have both sites up. There's no point in us hosting your series if you do that, you're just stealing publicity. Your Porplemontage Studios site should be the main location for your series.
• Website experience. You will be uploading your files through an FTP server and your site will start out as nothing. This stuff isn't hard to learn, and much will be learned along the way, but experience in that field is highly recommended.
• You must include the Porplemontage Studios logo in every Flash toon/game that you release for your site, and the logo must link to porplemontage.com. If the logo isn't there or it's not being displayed for at least five seconds (or on a stopped frame), your account could be revoked. We're giving you free webspace, so you shouldn't be surprised that we're asking this favor in return. Comic sites just need the logo (linked to porplemontage.com) on every page of their site. Upon being accepted we will provide you with the files you need to get the logo into your Flash documents.
• You can deal with displaying an ad box on every page of your site. We'll host your content for free, and those ads help us pay for it. Once again, we'll give you the code you'll need to display the ads after you are accepted.
• Popup advertisements, or any advertisements that will make you money are not permitted on your site. Button and link exchanges are allowed.
• Each separate cartoon/comic must have its own page of some kind. Simply linking to the Flash/image file is prohibited.
• Keep in mind that Porplemontage Studios ultimately owns your site, and has the right to delete it or alter it at any time for whatever reason. The same goes for the forum that we give you. We usually don't delete sites for inactivity, but your forum and spot on the main page can go without warning.

Porplemontage Studios clients receive:

• A porplemontage.com subdomain of your choice for hosting your cartoon or comic. File space and bandwidth is "unlimited" as long as it's all necessary for your series. MySQL databases are available on request.
• A subforum on the Porplemontage Studios message boards.
• A category for your series and the right to post on the Porplemontage Studios blog.
• A Porplemontage Studios wiki page for your series.
• An email forwarder from anything@yoursubdomain.porplemontage.com to your current email address.
• First priority as a guest in the Porplemontage Studios Podcast.

If you feel you're qualified for a site, send us an email and let us know about your webtoon or comic, along with what you want your subdomain.porplemontage.com to be, a desired FTP password, your username on the forum, and include a sample of your work. If you are applying for cartoon hosting, you must send at least one episode of your series. If you are applying for comic hosting, you must send at least six comics. We need as much material as possible to get a good idea of what we can expect from you. We're currently seeking new clients. Evaluation of your series could take a few days, so please be patient when it comes to getting a reply. Thank you.
